April is nationally declared as Sexual Assault Awareness Month & Child Abuse Prevention month. Join us on facebook, instagram, twitter & youtube. LIKE & FOLLOW our pages. What we do now, matters later right?
It's important for us all to keep others engaged in the movement and conversations of ending sexual violence in our community. During the entire month of April we want photos, videos, and stories to flood social media. Use our official hashtags #heartsofhope & #NowMattersL8R along with the national hashtag #SAAM. Be sure to tag Hearts of Hope by using @theheartsofhope. Here is the weekly social media schedule for your posts
#MCM: Monday is a special day for all the female users because they're encouraged to a post a photo of any guy they know supports women’s rights, gender equality and anti-sexual harassment policies in the workplace… he can also be very attractive. We don’t have to limit this to male celebrities, models and athletes; we want to see local men of our Acadiana communities.
#TipTuesday: Friends and followers can always appreciate a little advice from someone who has the knowledge and experience related to sexual violence and harassment issues. Hearts of Hope will share a tip every Tuesday that educates the public on sexual violence laws and policies regarding school and the workplace. We encourage friends to share them so that others can become educated on how these policies affect them.
#WCW: This is exactly like #ManCrushMonday, except obviously it involves photos of women instead of men. We don’t want to out any woman’s traumatic experience of sexual violence. However, if there are brave women out there who’ve shared their social media #Metoo story, we encourage further sharing. This inspires survivors and lets the public know that women are no longer remaining silent about this issue.
#Thankful Thursdays: Hey, you're almost through the week! This is a great time to reflect on what you're grateful for- supportive HR against sexual harassment in the workplace, supportive family who aren’t complicit towards child sexual abuse, having a pastor that supports anti-violence against women, etc… The sky is the limit on what you are thankful for and the community needs to hear that. It may just inspire others to be grateful too.
#FridayFunday: Brag about how much fun you're having on Friday- at work, school, girls night out, men’s gathering, church event, etc… Go live, create inspirational stories, post a SAAM video saying “No #Metoo for Me”.
#SelfieSaturday & #SelfieSunday: Whether you’re going out, headed to church service, running errands or just having a chill R&R day, we want people to take a selfie and post it. We encourage writing on a poster/cardboard “I support #HeartsofHope because #NowMattersL8R.”
