INDIVIDUAL COUNSELING

Hearts of Hope offers short-term counseling for survivors of sexual trauma which amounts to about 8 sessions, offered once a week. The focus is on building resiliency skills to help people handle any trauma symptoms stemming from the event(s). All of our services are free of charge.

GROUP COUNSELING

Adult Survivor group is a 8-week cognitive behavior group that is open to survivors and focuses on crisis and trauma discussing:

  • The meaning of the event(s) and restructuring unhelpful ideas & intentions

  • Patterns of problematic thinking and the effect on behaviors & emotions

  • Challenging questions

  • Other issues involving beliefs about self and the world, including: safety, trust, power, control, esteem, and intimacy

  • Support and open discussion

Caregiver Group is a 8-week series of cognitive behavior-focused crisis and trauma intervention sessions that teach:

  • Facts about child sexual abuse and trauma

  • The effects of trauma on victims, their parents, and siblings

  • The role of law enforcement, child protection, and community service providers who help families in the crisis

  • The knowledge and skills parents need to help children deal with potential long-term trauma throughout their development
